Update: Salisbury Community invited to project webinar

The Salisbury community is being invited to preview master plans and attend a webinar event for the Health, Education and Technology (HEAT) Project Salisbury.

Launched in 2019, HEAT Project Salisbury is exploring how to create a sensitive, phased and inclusive development around the Salisbury District Hospital site. The hospital-led project will integrate with the existing main hospital facility, offering a range of new facilities for health and wellbeing, education, skills, training, research and development.

A series of public exhibitions were held in March 2019, to launch the project. Since that time, the project team has been progressing the master planning phase, which includes undertaking a number of feasibility studies and initial consultations with hospital staff, the community, other providers and local businesses to help refine proposals.

The initial master plans have now been made available for preview and the Salisbury community is being invited to attend a webinar event to find out more about the plans and to receive an update from the project team. A full consultation will take place once the feasibility studies are complete and the plans are finalised.

A range of experts will be available to answer questions from members of the public and explain the next steps.

Nick Marsden, Chairman at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Salisbury District Hospital is a vital part of our community: we need to ensure we are at the forefront of healthcare, integrating with other services and working with others to create a modern, sustainable centre, which can serve the community’s changing needs.

“We are excited to be hosting this event, to explain our initial master plans to the community and provide an interim update on the project – we will be consulting fully once our accompanying studies are complete.

“There is more information about how to register on our website – www.heatprojectsalisbury.co.uk – along with the master plan documents. We are keen to give the community the chance to see progress so far.”

The event will take place on Tuesday 18th August at 17:00. People need to pre-register their interest by visiting: www.heatprojectsalisbury.co.uk.

Places are limited, so people are advised to register their interest as soon as possible. There will also be an opportunity to log questions they would like answered on the day.
